Quoting is free until the end of 31 October, with no membership to pay. Join by then and it is £19.98 a month from 1 November to the end of 2026, then £39.98. Join after and it is £39.98 a month. You pay £4.98 when a job is agreed either way, and so does the other side. The big exchanges want thousands up front, on a 12 month contract, before you move a thing.

Who gets on this board, and who does not
Nobody posts or quotes here until a person has been through their paperwork. Insurance, company details, and an operator licence where the law actually requires one. A firm running vans under 3.5 tonnes is not asked for a licence it does not need. Nothing above that weight gets on without one.
That is slower than a sign up button, and it is the point. When you quote on a load here, the firm on the other end has been checked by the same hand that checked you.

Those exchange figures are the published owner driver prices of the two largest UK freight exchanges, checked in August 2026. Both sell 12 month packages only, billed up front, with a joining fee on top and VAT on all of it. Cheaper boards exist, from around £30 a month. We have not named anybody, and you should check the numbers yourself before you take our word for it.

What does it cost to use HaulageBoard?
Posting is free, for good. Movers pay £39.98 a month to quote and take book now prices. When both sides agree a job, each pays our fee of £4.98. No commission, no per mile skim, and no contract.
Why do movers pay a subscription and posters do not?
Because posters are the scarce side. A firm that ships eight loads a year is not paying a subscription for the privilege of handing work to the board, and without their loads there is nothing for anyone to quote on. Movers pay because finding work is their income, and £39.98 against one £450 load is not a hard sum.
When do I get paid?
On whatever terms the poster trades on, and you can see exactly what those are before you quote. Every load on the board shows its payment terms next to the price, so you know whether it is on the day or in sixty before you commit a driver to it. We do not sit in the middle of that money. What we do is keep the record: the POD, the invoice, and a running list of who owes you what and how late it is.
What is a backload?
A backload is a load that fills an empty run. A driver who has delivered away from base takes a load on the way home instead of running empty. Backloads are tagged on the board so you can filter straight to them.
Do I need to be verified?
Yes. Every firm is checked by a person before it can quote or be booked. We check your goods in transit insurance and, where it applies, your operator licence. Uploading them takes about 3 minutes, and the answer usually comes back the same working day.
Who can post a load?
Anyone with something to move. Shippers, manufacturers, brokers and hauliers subcontracting their own overflow or return legs. Posting takes under 90 seconds and is free.
