What has changed, and what we will not do to you without warning.

What will not break

• A field that exists will not be removed or change meaning inside v1.
• A required field will not be added to a request.
• An enum you already handle will keep its values.

What might

• New fields on responses. Ignore what you do not recognise.
• New values in an enum, for example a vehicle class we did not carry before.
• New event types. Ignore events you do not handle rather than failing on them.

Anything that would break those first three gets a v2, and v1 keeps working while you move.

Two new calls for carriers: read the open board, and send or take back a quote. Nothing about posting changed. See Quoting.

30 August, more to say about a job

Nothing here breaks an integration written before it. No field was removed, none changed meaning, and nothing new is required. If you send exactly what you sent yesterday it still works.

New and optional: externalRef, your own job number, returned on every response and inside every webhook. collectByTime and deliverDate, deliverWindow, deliverByTime, so a job can carry a booked slot at either end rather than only a date. dimsNote for dimensions.

New events: load.collected and load.confirmed, the second being when a job becomes billable. Both firms on a job now get the lifecycle events, not only the one that posted it, so a system that quoted through us hears when it won the work rather than finding out by email. The read endpoints follow: you can now fetch and list the jobs your firm won, not only the ones it posted.

Changed: carriersAlerted is null on a test key. It was a real count, which told anybody with a free test key how many carriers cover a lane.

Worth doing even though nothing forces you to: send bookNowPence when your system already knows what the job pays. Without it the board shows Quotes and no figure, because we no longer put an estimate of ours where your price goes.
